Highly regarded Chicago lyricist Lupe Fiasco did link up with rising producer Kaelin Ellis for a new collaborative EP they’ve named HOUSE. The project materialized after Lupe replied to the beatsmith’s tweet and then recorded a freestyle over the beat Kaelin had posted. Together, they then later crafted 5 songs that capture the Grammy-winning emcee loosely articulating his thoughts.
The EP is as smooth and soulful as we would expect of any Lupe project. Kaelin’s lush and inviting soundscapes allows the rartist to effortlessly deliver introspective bars.
Lupe Fiasco also had his friend Virgil Abloh contributing audio clips on which the fashion designer discusses architectural concepts of a house and the process of shoe design on the tracks “HOMME MADE” and SHOES”, respectively, and tying them to socially relevant issues like the murder of Ahmaud Arbery by police.
HOUSE is out on 1st & 15th / Thirty Tigers.
