2020 saw the return from R&B/soul legend Ann G. She dropped The Sarah Project, a collection of 8 creative new songs based on a new style she calls ‘R&B Beatboxing.’ One of the song’s we’ve highlighted is “Make Me Miss You”, which she’s since accompanied with a music video. This particular piece was penned about love in a long distance relationship.
“I had new stuff I wanted to say from my ‘grown woman’ perspective so I wrote all the concepts down and decided to do a whole a cappella thing. I created all of the vocals and instruments with my mouth (except of course the claps…haha)… The drums and bass sounds you hear…I sang them all and just manipulated EQs. I’m calling it R&B Beatboxing. Just felt intensely creative and had to get it out.”
