Three guitarists Riezvi, Girish and Stijn; two vocalists Ariël and Joey; bassist Bas and drummer Mickey: that is the composition of D’orkest, a new band from Suriname. The group started out in 2018 by doing covers and, when the pandemic hit, they retreated and began writing songs. D’orkest released their bluesy debut single “End Of It All” late last year.

Three more songs have since been unveiled, each carrying a distinct flavour. “Show Me the Way” is a funky, disco-flavoured track while “A Little Time (Ragastanga)” and “So Badass” carry influences from reggae and rock, respectively.
