Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra joined by a host of emcees for a Nipsey Hustle tribute

Matt Hsu’s Obscure Orchestra enlisted a selection of Australian emcees to make this orchestral-rap rework of Nipsey Hustle’s hit, “Last Time That I Checc’d”. Released alongside a great visual, the song arrived on August 15, coinciding with the late rapper’s birthday.

L-FRESH The LION, Nardean, Mack Ridge, Blaq Carrie, Sachém and SOL CHLD each got to deliver inspiring lyrics over a richly-layered instrumental track crafted by the band, which is the music project by Asian-Australian artist-activist Matt Hsu.

I sought out bold voices in the Australian artist community, people who I feel carry the flame of Nipsey’s independent spirit and community-minded thinking,” says Hsu.
