For their forthcoming sophomore album, New York indie band Meyru did team up with producer Sam Skinner alongside frequent collaborator Cal Maro. The new LP will be the successor to 2019’s Good to See You.
Meyru have so far released two singles from the upcoming album: “Playing This Alone” and “I’d Ask.. But I Know You’re Alright”. The latter arrived last week.
“I’d Ask.. But I Know You’re Alright” is a fun indie-pop/rock track combining psychedelic guitars with bouncy drums beats. About it, Meyru note: “‘I’d Ask’ is our love letter to the band. As we get older and continue to play together, sometimes there’s a stress that comes along with ‘trying to make it’ in music. This song is is our light hearted reminder that everything’s all good and to not take anything too seriously. It’s the pop song of the record.”
