Lyves drops sophomore EP, Change

London soul singer Lyves has just released her sophomore EP, Change. It was preceded by the singles “Shame”, “The System” and the project’s titular song, “Change”.

Alongside the EP comes two songs “21 Days” and “Blindfold”.

“The System” (highlighted above) is a cathartic ode to self-love and healing.

About the track, Lyves said: “‘The System’ feels like the most empowering song I’ve written about love to date – it is an ode to self-love, growth, and healing. The song came about after recognising I no longer wanted to choose pain in love – I wanted to step away from unavailable people and situations that hurt. I learnt that sometimes we unconsciously choose love that will be painful, but once this is uncovered and understood, you can’t unsee it, and you begin choosing better and higher for yourself. It was incredibly liberating to write, and feels even more unshackling to release”.
