Legendary Senegalese musician Baaba Maal has an upcoming album which is scheduled for release on 31st March, 2023. That project is titled Being. Preceding it is this new song called “Freak Out”.
A collaboration with electro-Afropop band The Very Best, the song arrived in the company of an enchanting visual. The music video shows scenes from Baaba’s incredible Blues De Fleuve festival in Podor (on the Senegal River).
“Freak Out” exemplifies Baaba’s style, a blend of traditional and futuristic sound.
