Boston-native American artist Drea finally released her Candid album via La Reserve Records.
Spanning ten tracks, it’s an R&B/pop album. The music feels vulnerable yet sensual and danceable. “I don’t think I’ve released music as honest as this, ever,” Drea remarks.
Sharing more details about this album, she added: “I want Candid to feel like someone is reading a journal entry of mine. I talk about my childhood a lot, and I talk about sex a lot. As a young girl in music, those topics for me always felt taboo, or even shameful to speak of. But this album, to me, was incredibly healing to write. So it’s a bit scary to put out into the world. But I also think this is the best music I’ve made yet.”
Title-track “candid” is a smooth, harmony-filled tune. Other songs include: “heaven+hell”, “rise up” and “sugar baby”.
