Hearing “Yellow Moon” by Boston’s Highland Express for the first time was an absolutely unforgettable experience. Adding to my enchantment with this upbeat acoustic-folk tune was the realization that it was released as part of a new album that arrived late last year.

So, naturally, I listened to Stuck on Earth Together in its entirety. This is a beautiful album, I tell you. It showcases Highland Express’ warm blend of acoustic folk with hints of Americana and singer-songwriter sensibilities.

Back to “Yellow Moon”, I have to say it’s the kind of song that makes one fall in love with a whole genre of music. Personally, I was already into indie-folk and adjacent styles, but you get the point!
