Straight out of Amsterdam’s bustling music scene, Maryn Charlie delivers her third EP, Threads.

The Dutch singer-songwriter has been on a steady upward trajectory and, with the release of this 5-song project, she’s bringing her honesty-driven style to the mainstream.

She had me sold the moment I heard “Hit By Lightning”, the EP’s focus track. An upbeat indie pop tune layered with warm synth melodies, it’s a magnificent song.

Maryn says, “‘Hit by Lightning,’ is about the longing to stand out and be recognized in a world where you felt invisible for a long time. I have felt invisible my whole life. When I was a kid I was very shy, I was too scared to say anything in the classroom. Sometimes I even thought the teachers didn’t know my name. With this song i’m portraying the feeling of wanting to be seen. Not in a way of ‘look at me, i’m amazing’. But i’m ready to show the world who I am, in my own way.“

The other standout tracks from the EP are “Hot Glue” and “Are You Bored Yet?”. Altogether, Threads is a brilliant mini album, and Maryn is an interesting new artist.
