When you combine smooth, R&B-inflected vocals with synthpop’s atmospheric production, you get a song as irresistible as “Love Me Not”. The expressive lyrics and flowing melodies make the listening experience emotionally resonant.
“Love Me Not” is the latest single from Los Angeles pop singer Cooper Phillip, her first of the year.
“I wanted to explore a very specific emotional space – the feeling of connecting to someone in your mind before anything has actually happened in real life. It’s that in-between state where attraction, imagination, and possibility start to build a story that doesn’t fully exist yet,” she shares.
Cooper Phillip has been on my radar for nearly a decade. Her ability to blur genre boundaries is one of the reasons why I’ve remained hooked to her music, which always sounds so fresh.
