From Mali comes Bamako-based band Amanar De Kidal and their new song “Aljahalat”. The track offers listeners a first taste of their upcoming album, Kel Tamasheq (due July 31st).

“Aljahalat” is desert rock music with hypnotic vocal harmonies and a modern groove.

Commenting on this song, band leader Ahmed Ag Kaedy shares: “Among the Tuareg, some are with Mali, some are with the rebels, some are with the Jihadists. The spirit of this song and our forthcoming album is to say: our misfortune is the source of our division. Our music is driven by Tuareg identity. If we can remember who we are, and let it guide us, we will never lose the road.”
