We’ve added Natalie Brainin’s music to our playlist a couple of times in the past. Actually, that was about four years ago, and she was going by the moniker Space Nat.

This year, the LA-native singer-songwriter debuted a new project called Bombix. As Bombix, Natalie has so far released two singles, “Heatwave” and “Silkworm”. Her new music explores the often-angsty transition from girlhood into womanhood.

“Silkworm” is especially catchy. An indie pop track infused with electronic elements, the Lewis Pesacov-produced song describes the discomfort that accompanies the process of evolution and change.

“It’s when you’ve finally slowed down enough to see yourself in a new light after all the work you’ve done,” Bombix shares. “But when you look in the mirror, your mind and heart are still catching up to your new life; hence, I’m here but I feel far away.“

I’d recommend you listen to the two tracks. And, if you’ve got more time, you can sample music she released as ‘Space Nat’.
