For a decade or so, New York artist Nurko has rubbed shoulders with some of the biggest names in EDM music; through numerous remixes, original songs and hug collabs, he’s showcased melodic bass style. And the couple of EPs that Nurko has released have proved he’s capable of delivering a solid body of work.

However, with his debut album, which is out now, he wanted to create a truly narrative-driven collection of songs. The album is titled Solstice.

“This album came from a really personal place – the ups, the lows, the moments where you’re trying to find light again, and the people who help you get through it. A lot of my music has always lived in that emotional space: healing, heartbreak, hope, grief, resilience, and finding your way back to yourself,” the producer says.

The focus track “Back Home” features vocals of Canadian artist Kiesza. It perfectly bottles the emotional essence of the album.
