Black Sherif is one of the most impactful artists that have emerged out of Africa in the 2020s so far. The Ghanaian rapper and singer’s two albums, The Villain I Never Was (2022) and IRON BOY (2025) helped bring to the mainstream his brand of drill music called “Asakaa”.

Recently, he dropped a new EP. Titled Sun Sherif, the 6-track project reveals a mellower and more intimate side to Black Sherif. “Jolie” one of the songs that stand out, thanks to its sentimental lyrics and tender melodies.
