AFRO URF, the much-awaited debut album by Brice Blanco, is finally here with us. Before the project dropped, the LA-based newcomer had teased it with singles like “B Here” and “Language“.

Arriving with the album as its focus track is “Warm Skin / Kin Swarm,” a two-apart alt-hip hop song that explores African identity, heritage and connection. While “Warm Skin” is groove-driven and hard-hitting, “Kin Swarm” is stripped-back and reflective.

At its heart, AFRO URF is a celebration of identity and kinship through music. The production is utterly refreshing and Brice is, surely, a breath of fresh air in an industry that can sometimes be obsessed with replicating proven musical formulas.

I’ve really enjoyed this 12-song collection. So, I urge you to drop whatever it is you are doing and dive into the album right away. Follow Brice Blanco on IG for more.
