Last year Aipate‘s top 10 Kenyan Hip Hop Artists list was met with mixed reactions, with a good number criticizing us for not ranking their favourite musician as the best.

Most critics, however, don’s understand dynamics that come with compiling such a list. Khaligraph Jones appeared third on the list, and some of his fans felt he deserved the top spot.

This year, 2016, we see him going hard for the crown, just the same way he does with his rap. He did that “Ting Bado Malo” jam wih Kantai and, currently, is literally the most in-demand rapper when it comes to collaborations.

Khaligraph has featured on songs by Phy, Abbas, King Kaka, Dj Creme, Skales, among others, and as the year progresses, we can see him going even harder.

What makes the case of Papa Jones more interesting is that he announced the release of his debut EP, sometimes around mid 2016. That project should put him as a top contender for the best rapper, considering that the likes of Kaka and Octopizzo already have projects for their fans.
