Winston Francis has dreams of a “U.T.A (United Tribes of Africa)”

Listen to this song, “U.T.A (United Tribes of Africa)” by reggae legend Winston Francis. The 69-year old was born in Kingston, Jamaica but later moved to Miami at just 16 years of age. While there, he attended music school and then after joined Carlos Malcolm’s Afro Jamaicans’ band.

He released his debut solo album Mr. Fix-It in 1969. His second effort, California Dreaming came in 1971. The title track to this LP was well received and supported by the BBC. He worked with the Wailers including Bob Marley.
