London’s own Fred Lessore has shared a new song, “Quietly Drowning”. The singer/songwriter, who is of Anglo-French and Malagasy descent, grew up in Peckham and acquired a music taste which is a concoction of different flavours.
“Quietly Drowning” gets its indie-pop edge from the smooth, guitar-led instrumentation. The resultant tune blends with Fred’s engaging storytelling.
“The motives behind Quietly Drowning are clearly deeper than pure entertainment. At a time where every waking moment has a filter and an expiration date, Quietly Drowning defiantly shows its truest self from the get go. The song encourages the listener to not only respond to the experience of depression in an honest way but to also appreciate the beauty in the struggles that affect us all.”, Lessore says about the record.
The song is empowered by the singer’s compassionate vocal delivery. Hear it below via Soundcloud.
