Wasted Love Songs is an upcoming, first solo album from Canadian singer/songwriter Bob Sumner, who is the younger half of Sumner Brothers outfit (the other being Brian). The musician has released the first official video from the LP and the song is titled “Riverbed”. A beautiful piece that comfortably sits somewhere in between folk and country music, the track also comes with elements of rock. Bob says that this new album took a different production approach.
“We’ve always done recording in cabins and whatnot, bringing in an engineer, and some kegs of beer. But for Wasted Love Songs I wanted to go into a proper studio and work out these songs I’d been sitting on for these years”, he remarks.
The song was engineered and produced by Erik P.H. Nielson at Afterlife Studio in Vancouver. Other musical contributions came from Chris Gestrian, Matt Kelly, Jesse Zubot, Leon Power, Etienne Tremblay and Paul Rigby.
