5 exciting new R&B/Pop songs to add to your playlist

With the boundaries of pop and R&B continually being blurred, one thing that remains unchanged is the fact that a good song should engage you musically while also ‘transporting to another world’ lyrically. So, we are recommending these five songs.


Fabian Secon – “Small”

Independent British singer/songwriter Fabian Secon’s I See Things Others Can’t EP arrives. Led by the single “Small”, the self-written and self-produced project is quite magnificent and it’s a good way to for the artist to celebrate surpassing the 20 million streams’ mark. Fabian’s delivery has always been something to write home about, with his performance on “My Pain Locked Away“, for example, exhibiting his vocal prowess.

Lee Brown – “Not Gonna Buy Your Love”

“Not Gonna Buy Your Love” is the latest from LA-based, UK singer/songwriter Lee Brown. With a feel-good, rhythmic tune and an infectious hook, this song will surely switch up your mood. The lyrics aims to kick material things out of relationships or social engagements.

Starting out in 2015 as a member of the band Phase Five, Lee has progressed over time and is now pursuing a solo career. With a good song like “Not Gonna Buy Your Love”, the future can only be so bright for the artist.

MELXDIE – “Summer Love” feat. Tory Lanez

Young Toronto-based, Canadian artist MELXDIE (pronounced ‘Mel – X – dee’) has a new track out and it features rapper Tory Lanez. Titled “Summer Love”, this is (only her second single and) the follow-up to her first song “Voulez Vous” featuring Pressa. Her debut was a massive success with the song garnering a tonne of streams.

Born Melodie Young, the 20-year-old vocalist is also an apt dancer.

Didenticals – “I Miss You”

“I Miss You” is a song from US-based, Afro-pop duo Didenticals, which consists of Nigerian twins. It is taken off their EP titled Fakosi. “I Miss You” is a heartfelt piece which many listeners will find relatable.

Stephen Flickner – “Bounce”

“Bounce” is the newest single by up-and-coming American singer/songwriter Stephen Flickner. Written, played, produced and mixed by the artist himself, the song has an exciting melody and gripping composition.
