Dana Williams‘ unique and graceful voice is something of a phenomenon. As the Los Angeles-based alt-R&B singer and songwriter returns with a new single she calls “Knife”, we’re once again blown away by her soothingly soulful style. The brass section played by Christopher Allison adds adds an awesome flavour to the track’s melody.
“I wrote this song about breaking free from a toxic situation. I was experiencing such joy and creativity with this feeling of newly found freedom. The satisfaction of cutting ties can be like using a perfectly sharpened knife to a cook.”

“Knife” was produced by John Ware and L.3.G.I.O.N. — both of whom Dana worked with on her previous single, “underwater” — and mastered by Bill Prokopow. The beautiful music video that she accompanied it with injects an intimate feel to the song.
