Denmark’s Alexander Grandjean is debuting as a solo artist with the single “Weeps”. Prior to his new project, he’d worked behind the mixing board as a producer, making hits for other artists.

“Weeps” is a mournful piece that pairs Alexander with fellow Danish singer ALEA — both artists’ vocals are laden with sorrow. The bluesy pop song is about finding yourself in a dark space and continuously falling deeper, a feeling that characterized the past year. Its production beautifully mixes elements of rock and contemporary pop.

Grandjean is already working on his debut album to be titled Via Motion. The LP will be accompanied by a 40-minute film which compiles the music videos for each single. “Weeps” itself comes side-side a nature-loving visual directed by Ross Hillier.
