Canadian indie-pop duo Mear released a new single called “The Order” about fortnight ago. The electro pop track is filled with moving melodies and harmonies that add to its overall emotional feel.
On “The Order”, singer-songwriter Frances Miller details her early experiences living with a chronic illness. She explains, “In 2014, I lost the ability to do a lot of things I had previously taken for granted. At the time I wrote this I couldn’t read for more than a few minutes at a time and a short walk around the block could leave me bedridden the next day. ‘The Order’ was an attempt to voice some of the pain and the loneliness of that; of not understanding what was happening to me.”
Mear is made up by Frances alongside electronic producer Greg Harrison. Together, they make music that capture the listeners’ senses.
The duo is working on their first full-length album titled Soft Chains. “The Order” is lifted from that upcoming LP. Listen to the song and follow Mear on Instagram.
