Named “Mercy (The Godfather Mix)”, the song and its cinematic video finds Blacc weaving a chilling story consistent with the themes of the iconic masterpiece: organized crime, love and loyalty.
Furthermore, this release coincided with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the film series, The Godfather.
The track’s instrumental was built around Nino Rota and Carlo Savina’s “Love Theme From ‘The Godfather'”.
I feel director Dashiell Winston did a nice job translating the rapper’s lyrics into a brilliant visual.
