Ghanaian-born UK-based artist Komla MC released a new song the other week — and it sounds super fresh. Calling it “2 By 2”, he created a drill-influenced grime track.

With great lyricism, impeccable flow and a catchy hook, this song ‘slaps’. So much that it got picked up by Spotify editorial playlists.

“I’m a true hip hop head who appreciates all directions that hip hop is moving in, drill in particular excites me because it sounds like a completely new genre. My lyrics usually focus on social commentary and this is no exception. What I’m referencing with the line ‘like sheep follow 2 by 2’ is that my contemporaries and I need to step in line—to recognise and appreciate hip hop’s new movements.
