Out now, “Takes Two” is the second single from EAST WEST HONEY, the newly minted project bringing together soulful singer Lyric Jones and Wake the Wild trio.
The song is self-produced, and it was released via Tempo Soul Records. Capturing that flirty dancefloor energy, it’s such a playful dance-pop song. I’m impressed by how elements from house, disco, soul collide smoothly to make “Take Two” a universal crowd-mover.
Lyric Jones reveals that the song materialized after her Coachella performance last year, adding that both her and the Wake the Wild boys were in such a creative mood.
“This song felt like a natural meeting point between both of our worlds. It had the groove, the warmth, the playfulness, and the dancefloor energy we were all craving at the time. It also became the song that made us realize there was something bigger here, not just one collaboration, but a whole sound, a whole project, and eventually EAST WEST HONEY,” she says.
“Spend The Night”, the group’s first single, is just as good. I’ve really enjoyed both and believe you will too.
