2026 has seen young, guitar-wielding up-and-comer Julia Sommerfield announce herself to the music world.

The Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter’s fourth single arrived the other week. “As I Am” is a soulful indie pop ballad that pairs soul-baring lyrics with a deeply moving vocal delivery.

Julia vulnerably captures the pain of being rejected and that unrelenting desire to be accepted. I love how the production embellishes the track with an atmospheric texture. “As I Am” is really captivating.
