Julia Gartha’s California’s Killing Me EP is finally out. The project spans six tracks and it arrived with the song “Not In The Room”.

Combining folk, pop and indie elements, California’s Killing Me is infused with singer-songwriter sensibilities.

Producer and co-writer Caleb Dee was clearly on the same wavelength as Julia; it’s amazing how their musical chemistry seeps into the songs.

Speaking about the song “Not In The Room”, the singer-songwriter says:

“It’s about the uncertainty of being in a long-distance relationship with someone who gives you the bare minimum, leaving you questioning whether they even miss you when you’re gone. It captures the frustration of someone who only seems to express how much they miss you when you’re halfway across the world, making you wonder why that love feels so much harder to find when you’re right there.”

As a whole, the EP is about being caught between the life you have, the life you miss, and the life you’re still trying to build. That’s in the artist’s own words.
