Another exciting R&B/hip-hop collective is emerging out of America’s DMV area. Formed in 2011, Lo Village — which consists of emcees Kane and Charles Tyler as well as R&B singer Ama — makes music with an infectious and authentic vibe. The group has just shared another beautiful song and this one is titled “NERD”. The record which was premiered on HYPEBEAST saw the trio working with producer Frankis, who gave the track a funky and exquisite touch.
“The title ‘NERD’ is derived from the acronym ‘No One Ever Really Dies’. Our understanding of this, which is conveyed through the song, is that people and outside forces will always try to ‘kill’ you: whether it’s for things that make you unique or just different from everybody else. NERD is an anthem we made to express that since no one ever really dies, there’s nothing anyone can do to stop your dreams or change who you are inside.”
