The Four Owls x RA The Rugged Man – “Air Strike”
“UK hip-hop group The Four Owls dropped their new album Nocturnal Instincts on April 17. Including previously released tracks like “100%” (with DJ Premier), it’s a solid body of work. “Air Strike” featuring RA The Rugged Man did arrive with the album. The music video for the track is scheduled to drop in a couple of weeks and should be a great accompaniment to an already very good song.
K.I.N.G. the MC – “Napoleon Hill”
With “Napoleon Hill”, Nashville-based hip-hop artist K.I.N.G. the MC got to reveal his acquired spiritual enlightenment. Not only is it a manifestation of his resilience in the face of constant loss and challenges, the song also exhibits his aspirations. ‘Never take directions from those who ain’t been to where you’re destined‘, he quips. The music video fits the story behind the lyrics.
DJ AO x UFO Fev x Travis Mendes – “Bread & Cheese”
Long Island (New York) producer DJ AO and his label Baker Music Group have released a new single, “Bread & Cheese”. The boom bap track features rapper UFO Fev (Harlem native) and vocalist Travis Mendes (Brooklyn). It is a celebration of their persistent walk to success in the game and you can hear Travis singing ‘this thing of ours is all we had from the start…‘. UFO Fev paints the picture even more vividly in his raps.
Genra – “Crazy”
Oakland, California native Genra has slowly but surely been pushing his brand of hip-hop music. Now gearing towards the release of a new EP this year, he’s sharing a new introspective song named “Crazy”. Over a DreamLife-produced track, Genra spits fire in a fashion reminiscent of the 90s era. Excitingly, there’s something quite infectious about the chorus. “I’m from Oakland, but I recorded this track during a snowstorm in Colorado. We spun out on the side of the road on the way to the studio,” he says.
John Snow X Staks – “We The North”
“We The North” pairs two Canadian emcees John Snow and Staks. The record captures them on beast-mode as they delivery heavy bars, representing their country in the lyrical map. The track was produced by Skosha Muzik, mix/mastered by Lil Turtle and accompanied by a video created by Most Music. “We The North” is a regional anthem but has the effect that transcends physical boundaries.
Westside Gunn x Joey Bada$$ x Tyler, The Creator x Billie Essco -“327”
A few months after Griselda Records’ monumental collective album WWCD dropped, the label’s figurehead Westside Gunn has now released his own solo LP. Pray For Paris is a star-studded hip-hop record and we are highlighting the single “327”, which he did together with Joey Bada$$, Tyler, The Creator and Billie Essco.
