With his last single “Fucked Up All The Time“, Cian Ducrot grabbed some attention around Ireland and The UK. Ready to enter the global scene, the London-based independent singer-songwriter is back with another record. This one is named “anyone but her” and reintroduces us to his powerful voice and evocative songwriting.
The song narrates the story of a young woman who moves to New York to escape her family troubles only to descend into drug addiction while there. Cian’s chilling delivery is affecting and elicits the listener’s sympathy. “When I heard the story it broke my heart and I couldn’t stop crying. I feel like the song wrote itself so quickly because the story was already there and it was so powerful and emotional. I felt like I had to share it because it was the most real thing I had heard in a long time,” Cian explains.
