In the run-up to his self-titled debut album Langa which arrives September 25, South African R&B sensation Langa Mavuso has unveiled a soulful new song that features rapper Yanga Chief. Named “Panther”, it is an exquisite slow-burner crafted together with the production duo Noble.
The moody song sheds light into a dark period in Langa’s past. He discloses: “The song was inspired by a tumultuous time in my life where I had surrounded myself with many distractions to try and get over the pain and heartbreak of a difficult breakup, it captures how exhausting it became to pretend that things were alright with me after this relationship ended. It talks about the many distractions we use to run away from our emotions, whether it’s flashy cars and bottles of champagne to heal the pain, or seeking light in dark places”.
The album will drop via Platoon. For all updates about the release, check out Langa Mavuso’s Instagram page.
