LOVA shares debut album, Grown-ish; stream

After teasing it with a string of amazing singles, Swedish pop artist LOVA has finally unveiled her debut album, Grown-ish. Out on Republic Records, the LP arrived with the single “Dance For The Hell Of It”. This is an upbeat and infectious pop number dedicated to those longing to fit in and find their place in the world. Previous singles “Own Worst Enemy” and “Jealous Of My Friends”.

The 10-song album is weaved from the young singer-songwriter’s honest, personal and diary-like pieces detailing her transformation from a teenager to an adult. Grown-ish also sees LOVA delving into the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on people’s everyday life. She explains: “For the first time, I wrote for myself. I asked myself ‘what are people going through?’ I wanted it to be very much like a diary and very personal. It was therapeutic for me, and the title resonated with where I am in my life. It’s a way to show every side of me. All of the songs are creating the story, but the album is also what made the songs. I’m excited to be able to go back to it in ten years and reminisce how I felt during this time.”
