Sydney-based songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer KESMAR shared his new EP Forever Holiday on May 21 via Nettwerk Records. The 6-track mini-album explores a blend of yacht rock and bedroom pop. Analog synths, lush guitars and organic beats dominate EP, with the single “Johatsu”, featuring French songstress Flore Benguigui, being a great introduction to the project.
Accompanied by a retro visual, this disco-flavoured, laidback track is simply enchanting. “It was originally just an instrumental set to close the EP,” KESMAR states. “I put a little snippet on my story, and Flore replied that she liked it. We had been song-sharing for a fair while, but we never really got around to properly collaborating. I sent her the track and said, ‘Hey, if you hear any melodies, feel free to try something.’ The next day or so, she sent back two whole verses that were pretty much finished.”
