Vancouver singer and rapper SonReal‘s artistic versatility informs his genre-blurring approach. His new EP, i can’t make this up, is another impressive project that emphasizes his alt-pop music style.
The 5-track EP was preceded by single and video, “bananas”. Summery and lighthearted, this bouncy and melody-filled track showcases his pop and hip hop influences.
SonReal remarked: “All I remember with creating ‘bananas’ was absolutely losing my mind in the studio. I did like 5 verses on that song just because the beat slapped so hard. It’s one of those records you want to perform live as soon as it’s recorded.”
