They tell me don’t change but why would they wan’t the same me?, Ramaj Eroc muses in his newest song, “The Omen”. Pairing it with a simple, one-take video, the Chicago emcee lets the listener absorb his deeply dark, introspective lyrics. For his delivery, Eroc kept it as aggressive as the hard-hitting instrumental that was produced by Flink, a tracksmith from Denmark.
“The Omen” finds the rapper addressing a number of issues, ranging from personal to the music industry. About his inspiration, Ramaj says he was inspired by watching Benny The Butcher perform live at Rolling Loud. “I was greatly inspired to see a traditional hip-hop artist rap bars over dark, sample instrumentals & succeed in an era where autotuned vocals & trap beats usually get the spotlight,” he confides.
