Time to update your playlist as our latest pop music roundup is here. We have selected a few pop songs that should fit nicely into your playlist. Lily Meola, Henry And The Waiter and Ella Collier are some of the artists.
Zach Hood – “neon skies”
Emerging as a star in the pop scene, Zach Hood has been releasing nothing but sterling singles. The LA-based artist’s newest song is called “neon skies”. Released alongside a beautiful video, this song draws parallels between Zach’s romantic experience and the ‘Northern Lights’ phenomenon. He explains, “‘Neon Skies’ is about seeing someone for the first time but it feels like you won’t ever see them again. The main thing I compared this to was seeing the Northern Lights. It’s such a beautiful sight but you most likely will only see it once in your lifetime, if you’re lucky. We’ve all had that one day or night with someone out of nowhere, but you never speak to them anymore. You will always remember the time you spent with them though. It’s like you saw the Northern Lights.”

Lily Meola – “(Don’t Quit Your) Daydream”
Rising pop singer-songwriter Lily Meola has reworked her 2021 hit, “Daydream”. This new version was named “(Don’t Quit Your) Daydream”. While maintaining the emotions of the original, this version adopts brighter piano melodies. “I felt the need to write a song that wasn’t about love or heartbreak, I wanted something meaningful and inspiring…something that would encourage other young people to listen to their heart. I feel like I wrote this song for my future self, to re-inspire me to never quit my daydream,” Meola said about the song. She was born in Maui, Hawaii. She’s quite talented and continues to show this with every new piece.

Noak Hellsing – “Enemy”
In terms of new music, Noak Hellsing has kept them coming this year. “Enemy” is the Swedish artist’s third single of 2023. It’s also our third taste of his upcoming EP titled YESTERYEAR. An emotional pop ballad, “Enemy” is so affecting. Asked about it, Noak explained: “‘Enemy’ is a song that is very close to my heart. The lyrics almost flew out of me, and it felt obvious what the song should be about when I sat down at the piano and sang the first melodies. I think many people can relate to the experience of someone so close suddenly becoming a stranger, or even an enemy.”

Ella Collier – “HOLD PLEASE”
Atlanta-native LA transplant Ella Collier did reclaim her power in her recent single, “HOLD PLEASE”. This is the second single lifted off of the artist’s upcoming EP. “HOLD PLEASE” is an intense electro pop banger. “I honestly wrote this song from a resentful place about the past people in my life, that I don’t see myself being around anymore, who I felt like only used me or cared about me for what they could gain. This song gives you the permission to choose yourself. Taking your power back can be hard, but I’m here, doing it with you,” says Ella. With this one, she’s created an anthem: one covered in synths and reverbed bass. “HOLD PLEASE” transitions from a moody introduction to a bouncy drop.
