Time for another pop music roundup. Selected below are seven songs that should find space in your playlist. Arwin, Beach Season and Harry Lyon are some of the artists whose songs got picked.
Maryon King – “Heart Lies”
Moldovan-born singer Maryon released a new song called “Heart Lies” the other week. The Los Angeles resident paired this tune with a bright visual directed by Josh Kim. “Heart Lies” is an emotional yet uptempo pop track with glossy production. Maryon delves into the fear of getting too attached. With her powerful voice on full showcase, it’s only a matter of time before this emerging artist begins getting mainstream attention.

Arwin – “More Than Just A Feeling”
The debut single from Norwegian artist Arwin is marvellous to say the least. He named the song “More Than Just A Feeling”. Written at a songwriting camp, this was the first time this gifted 15-year-old singer penned a song collaboratively. This is pop music at its finest. “More Than Just A Feeling” is sizzling and fresh. Arwin says, “It’s about youth love and the great power of energy you can get from that! Arwin wanted to do a pop song with soul influence.”

Beach Season – “Push My Luck”
The latest offering from Canadian duo Beach Season is a bop. So captivating, “Push My Luck” is poppier than most of their songs. Still, it retains their signature blend of R&B and electronic music. This song was co-written with Madisyn Gifford and producer Jared Manierka during the annual 604 Sessions. “‘Push My Luck’ is a love song for the philophobic; in other words, those who are afraid of love. Relating to personal experiences in our past, the lyrics reflect an intangible need for independence whilst simultaneously longing for connection and physical touch,” the band shares. Beach Season consists of Sam Avant and Simon Blitzer.

Garvie – “So High”
Following his “Default” single, emerging London musician Garvie is back with another one. Called “So High”, the song carries a monster of a hook. It’s probably his catchiest song yet. “So High” is about diving into new experiences too quickly. “The song has an obvious double meaning which no-one needs explaining, but I promise it’s about more than that,” the emerging UK artist shares. “It’s also about dependency of a different kind – I’m a very ‘all-in’ kind of person and tend to commit way too much to new things in life really quickly. This song is about the ‘oh sh*t’ moment you realise that you’re already fully committed to something and it’s too late to back out. Sometimes that’s a liberating feeling. And sometimes it’s really not.”

La Poré – “Come and Gone”
Colombus, Ohio native Nick Samson (known professionally as La Poré) has a new single for the fans. The song is called “Come and Gone” and was produced by Jaye Locke. Dan Hess directed the music video accompanying this song. “Come and Gone” is about overcoming obstacles out of our control. “Sometimes the biggest hurdle is ourselves. We knock ourselves down, but it’s also up to us to get back up,” the artist explains. The song’s sound is consistent with La Poré’s signature synth pop style.
