Last Year, BBE Africa unveiled a reissue of Remi Kabaka‘s 1976 album Son of Africa. Following its success, the label decided to re-release another of the legendary Nigerian musician’s hidden gems: Roots Funkadelia (originally released in 1980 via Polygram Nigeria).

This reissue marks the first time the album has been marketed outside Africa. Roots Funkadelia takes us back in time to a golden era of African music. It is a lovely body work. Focus-track “Funky Lagos” is especially infectious.
