There was a lot of buzz surrounding August Royals‘ introduction to the industry a few years ago, leading to a deal with RCA Records and rave reviews by outlets like V Magazine and Lyrical Lemonade.

Following the release of his debut EP, and subsequent exit from RCA, the alt-pop artist singer-songwriter decided to take a break to refine his sound, returning early this year with the single “American Spirit”.

His second release as an independent musician is “Skintight Crazy”, an upbeat indie-pop track about the rollercoaster experience that love is.

August says, “This is a song that captures the lingering effects of letting go of a relationship, realizing you’re in love with who they were and not who they are anymore. It’s a song recognizing the highlight reel of love while being aware that’s all it is, a highlight reel. For a hopeless romantic, you’ll always have the what-ifs.“
