Our latest roundup of indie and alternative pop songs features releases from talented female artists like Pool Girl, Sarah Kennedy and Eve Nosiri.
MAIH – “August”
For MAIH (birthname Martine Haaland), music runs in her DNA. Raised by a musician father, she would sometimes join him on tour, and by 8, she was already learning to play piano. The Norwegian artist has now crafted her own brand of melancholic alt-pop. She has dropped two singles this year, “August” being the latest. “August” feels emotionally raw, and features delicate melodies. The track is a great way to get introduced to the young artist.

Suzie Kennedy – “Anything and Everything”
My mind was instantly blown when I heard “Anything and Everything” by Suzie Kennedy. Actually, it was the first time I discovering this talented singer. “Anything and Everything” is a beautiful ballad, both lyrically and musically. Suzie’s lovely vocals come alive next to stripped-down production. “Anything and Everything” is only Suzie’s fourth single (all the four releases have come in 2026). The song is quite heartfelt and hopeful.

Pool Girl – “Call It What You Want”
“Call It What You Want” by Pool Girl is a dreamy, atmospheric indie pop track that provides us with a first taste of the California artist’s planned debut album, Melancholic Beach Town. Co-produced with French producer Clément Froissart, it was penned while Pool Girl was in France. The song carries hints of surf-rock, also borrowing influences from the likes of The Beach Boys and The Strokes. “Call It What You Want” is about the desire to turn a casual interaction into something more special.

Piper Connolly – “Beautiful Life”
Piper Connolly is a rising star in the alt-pop scene. Her latest single, “Beautiful Life”, sees her enter a new era, one marked by elevated confidence and a high energy to go with it. Paired with a bright music video that’s consistent with the artist’s visual aesthetic, the hook-driven song is so sassy and charming. “Beautiful Life” is what you get when you blend emotional honesty with vibrant production.

Sarah Kennedy – “Little Miss”
One song was all it took for me to become a fan of Sarah Kennedy. I’m talking about her most recent release, “Little Miss”. The song is a great introduction to the Los Angeles-based singer’s dark-pop sound (I really like Sarah’s blend of R&B-inflected vocals with cinematic soundscapes). A moody yet fierce anthem that captures the anger and frustration of being misunderstood by one’s partner, “Little Miss” is part of a larger project called Miss, Misunderstood. I can’t wait to hear more.

Daniella Binyamin – “Rock n Roll”
Daniella Binyamin’s upcoming debut album, Good Things will Come if You Wait, is slowly taking shape. After releasing “Wild Love“, the Swedish singer-songwriter returned with the second single, “Rock n Roll”. The piano-guided new song is all about returning to one’s hometown after two decades later and not being able to recognize the place. Daniella’s ability to evoke strong emotions, as well as her creative blend of styles, is showcased on this track. The album promises to be a great body of work.

Clara Lars – “Jeans”
“Jeans” is another amazing release from newcomer Clara Lars. The teenage singer has already dropped three tracks in 2026, with “Jeans” being the latest. Blending dreamy pop production with lots of emotion, the new song is quite polished. “Jeans” explores the conflicting emotions of love and lust. You can expect more singles from Clara (she’s currently delivering a new song every 8 weeks).

Sofie Demi – “Deeper Sky”
Sofie Demi is a talented artist from Hungary. She writes, sings and plays both guitar and piano. These multiple skills give her songs a distinct flavour. I’ve just listened to “Deeper Sky”, her latest offering. “Deeper Sky” is indie pop music with a soulful touch. It’s quite smooth. Overall, and as exhibited on this new track, Sofie’s writing is brilliant.

Eve Nosiri – “Who I Was”
Eve Nosiri is a young American singer-songwriter with immense talent. I only discovered her the other day, thanks to her new single, “Who I Was”. The song has that classic pop feel. It’s really impressive how Eve’s soulful vocals shine over the glossy production. “Who I Was” is about growth and discovering oneself.
