The latest instalment in Elderbrook’s Hotel Room Sessions is a cover of Kim Carnes’ classic, “Bette Davis Eyes”.
Originally released in 1981, the song went on to become a classic. It feels like Elderbrook’s intimate cover stokes the fire in the lyrics.
“I’ve been doing these Hotel Room Sessions for years now. Whenever I’m traveling for shows, I end up with so much extra time in hotel rooms, so I thought I’d find something productive to do. The ‘Bette Davis Eyes’ cover stood out to me, and people really connected with it, which brings us here. This is the first Hotel Room Session that I have released outside of YouTube,” Elderbrook shares.
The artist’s version of “Bette Davis Eyes” is indeed beautiful. It arrives on the heels of Elderbrook’s singles “Waterfall” and “Teardrop”, which are collaborations with Ahmed Spins and Jan Blomqvist, respectively.
May the songs keep coming because I am enjoying all this. Follow Elderbrook on Instagram.
