Before the arrival of their latest single, Mak Ro hadn’t put on new music since their 2024 debut album. “Middle” is the title of the new song, a soulful and groove-driven alt-R&B tune.

“Middle” is the kind of music you’ll want to play on repeat on a Sunday afternoon. Nostalgia is woven into the indie-flavoured production, the lulling melodies filling the track with so much warmth.

Mak Ro is a Memphis-based duo made up cousins Eric Makapugay and Kristoffer Ruaro. Infusing their Filipino heritage into their music, the pair has managed to build a really solid fanbase. This new song is them taking things a level higher.
