“Can’t Stop” is the latest one by A is for Arrows, a solo project by Toronto-based singer-songwriter Alessia Balasbas. The track sounds vibrant and sad at the same time. It begins with a wailing guitar, which gives room for lively beats and synths, effecting a sharp contrast to the emotional lyrics.

“Can’t Stop” was written about a time in Alessia’s life when she felt her partner wasn’t equally invested in their relationship. “… even though it hurt and no matter how terrible they sometimes made me feel, I couldn’t stop loving them,” she admits.

The chilling honesty is further pronounced by her gripping voice. Still, “Can’t Stop” is enjoyable in every mood.

As a release, it follows A is for Arrows’ successful previous single, “Talking In My Sleep”.
