Making her debut back in January, 25-year-old Dutch singer-songwriter Penny Roox is, in deed, an exciting newcomer. She released her third single “Love You When You’re Blue” the other Friday. This soulful indie-rock track introduces new listeners like me to her strong, rousing vocals and compelling songwriting.

“Love You When You’re Blue” is about the comfort of being sad around each other and how vulnerability can make someone more attractive. The track’s playful, summery instrumentation contributes even more warmth to this passionate song.
