Nairobi’s Supadrum are continuing their collaboration with up-and-coming East African artists.
Having already worked with the likes of Chevy Kev and Apio Moro, the production outfit was this time round joined by Kenyan singer Iyanah.
The result is a smooth neo-soul number called “Can’t Keep It In”. With an awesome production which accentuates Iyanah’s lyrics and vocals, this is a song worth playing on repeat.
As Supadrum says, “‘Can’t Keep It In'”‘ is about the grief associated with losing a connection and accepting that the relationship isn’t worth the hurt and confusion. While Iyanah was writing it, she noticed that different lines in the song directly mirrored the 5 stages of grief, and that’s how it became the stand-out theme.“
