London’s very own Paul Cook returned with a new song, “Before I Embarrass Myself”. This is the eighth instalemnt in his series of 2022 singles. Back in April, we shared Paul Cook and The Chronicles‘ “Get Along“.
This new song was penned and performed by Cook, with Martyn Kaine playing the drums and Julian Simmons working his magic on the production.
About the inspiration, Paul Cook said: “I heard someone say ‘…before I embarrass myself.’ when I was out in the belly of London recently and it was one of those lines that stuck. It didn’t take much to decide the song was going to be about someone who keeps fu****g it up and decides the best thing to do is to shut up as that’s typically what happened to me throughout my own (chequered) dating life!”
