Bali-based Indonesian rock trio MANJA stepped into our radar couple of weeks ago, courtesy of their new song, “Wax & Feathers”. Produced by Vladimir Coman-Popescu, the pop-rock track arrived in the company of an epic music video directed by Andrea Wijaya.

“Wax & Feathers” is an expressive song that delves into lead singer James Sukadana’s personal struggles with mental health, detailing his journey of self-discovery and healing. The video helps illustrate to the stirring lyrics.

MANJA comprises brothers Mark Saputra and Nick Pratama, and, of course, James. With this new song, the band effectively balanced vulnerability and maintaining their signature style.

Nick remarks, “We were stuck with the initial version of the song for so long, we just could not manage to progress for some reason. Then Vlad presented his new arrangement to us, and we tweaked it over a couple of Zoom calls. Voilà! We were all so happy about it in the end.

As you watch the visual below on YouTube, remember to check out MANJA on Instagram.
