As the title suggests, Lauren Sanderson‘s debut album Midwest Kids Can Make It Big is a testament that success knows no background — and sometimes, an element of rebellion comes in handy, and the emerging pop singer/songwriter from Fort Wayne, Indiana embodies just that. Released yesterday, January 13th, the 8-track LP’s release was marked by the sharing of the song “But I Like” (which is posted above). The album also includes previously released singles like “Hotel Room“, “Upset” and “To The People I Hurt“.

“But I like It” cleverly combines endearing melody and bass, all covered in a crust of electronic finishing. Listen to the song and the entire Midwest Kids Can Make It Big.
